Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
…I don’t know if they do, but I finally found my gold at the end of the rainbow!!! For over 10 years I’ve been using Mary Kay’s Signature concealer, but to my dismay they changed it. So I was on a hunt to find my next hidden treasure. After months of searching, reading magazines, and testing many suggested high end brands, they just didn’t cut it. They didn’t give me the coverage I liked with just a light amount of product. I prefer to use my fingers to blend the “miracle” makeup, but every time I dabbed the other products it would just disappear, and I’d still see that nasty blemish, or it would be too thick.
Well, I went to beauty heaven, aka Naimie’s Beauty Center, a week ago. You know it’s good if it’s worth a drive from Marina Del Rey to Valley Village. Any beauty professional in LA would agree with me that this place has any and everything you’d want. It’s open to the public, but only the “professionals” are privileged to get their discounts. Hey, we deserve it. This stuff costs hella $$$$!!!
Anyways, after going down each aisle and playing around with all the makeup, I finally decided to get back on track and find a new concealer. I walked up to the Senna counter and there I saw it…a three concealer shade palette called HD Hydra-Cover Concealer. I tested it on the little freckles on my hand and it did exactly what I wanted. It comes with an application brush too, which is a nice lil perk. I was sold!!
While I was there I couldn’t help but buy a couple NARS gloss lip liners (Happy Days and New Lover) and some Japonesque brush cleaner for me and my friend. Now, I was ready to go home…well, actually rush to Culver City to take my Cardio Carnival class at Brasil Brasil Cultural Center with Corey Coombs. This is how us LA girls spend their weekends…health and beauty.
So the next day, I decided to test it out on my face since I wanted to get used to working with it before my video shoot on Wednesday. I used it on my under eye circles and a few blemishes. This product did an amazing job and doesn’t look cakey. The last thing you want is to look like your perfect “flawless” skin isn’t “natural beauty”.
The only downfall is Senna lacks a variety of shades for the darker skin tones. This costs about $40 for the average Jane. Not bad for 3 products in one. A price us females will pay to look flawless!! If you’re looking for a lightweight concealer, give this a shot. You can find it online if it’s not at your local beauty store.
Otherwise, run out to the store and go find your pot of gold!!! Happy St. Patty’s Day!!!
I had the pleasure of working with THE EDEN EFFECT on their second music video - SURPRISE ME. They are great to work with! They’re true professionals and trust my abilities. CHECK IT OUT! Let me know what you think! Hair/MUA: HAIRTNI
I recently worked on a wedding. Fortunately for me, my first wedding was within the family, and the bride allowed me to do what I wanted with her makeup.
(hair extensions/makeup: HairTni)
I made “HairTnitraxx” hair extensions for her, which blended nicely with her hair.

Here’s a glimpse of me as a bridesmaid.

Professional pics will be posted shortly.
I just bought this palette. I’m super excited to play!! It comes with an eye shadow primer and a brush! They’re sold at Sephora or Ulta, among many others I’m sure, for $48.
Urban Decay’s eye shadows are great if you want to go light with a touch of shimmer or if you want to saturate the eyelid. There’s a lot of control and you can layer nicely!
Check it out!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of working with John Fleenor of Fleenor Films and his wife, Susan Frontiera. I’ve been fortunate to work with John on numerous projects. This one was different because it only consisted of male models. How am I going to say no to that?!?!?! A few good looking guys, great location in San Pedro, and a great team…what else could I ask for??
Thanks to this gig, I made some new contacts that lead me to my gig tomorrow. I had the pleasure of working with Summer Browning and Wisnick Luberice, both previously worked on Free Agents TV show among many others…
I just saw the raw photos today, and they look amazing!! It was a nice change of pace for me, as guys don’t require as much work as females.
Keep checking back…pics will be posted soon!!
Tomorrow I’ll be doing the hair and makeup for a photo shoot with Wisnick Photography in downtown LA - alley, loft, rooftop pool - great locations!! I’ll also do a little bit of modeling. They’re going for a vintage look, so I’ll be doing some classic makeup and hair styles. I’m thinking defined curls, exaggerated side parts, big high buns, red lips, thick lining of the eyes…looking forward to the pictures! I know it will look amazing!
For some stylists, it’s their worst nightmare to work on weddings. I have to admit that I was nervous at first, but I am going to rise to the challenge and make it an amazing experience for both me and the bride! Lucky for me the bride is my Sister-in-law. :-D
It’s always good to have a few test runs before the big day. The last thing you want to do is come unprepared and think you can “wing” it. During my last trip to Chicago, I was able to work on the bride a couple times and really get an idea of what she wanted. Not only that, but I was able to figure out where problems would have been. So now, I’m working on creating #HairTni customized clip-on extensions (#HAIRTNITRAXX) for her. She will be able to use it for her wedding day, as well as, every day use.
Stay tuned to see how the big day goes!!
P.S. Who has some first wedding gig stories they’d like to share???
Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend the premiere. For someone that is not a Gleek, I was pleasantly surprised with the movie. They have amazing voices and the inspiration and effect it has on people all around the world is absolutely amazing!
I would say my favorite part was the mini warbler!! How can you not love this face?!?!! Love how he jumps out from behind the couch! He got so much attention before and after the premiere…it was awesome! I hope my kid is as cute and talented as him!!
A few weeks ago, I got a chance to check out this exhibit, and I must say I was absolutely impressed. There’s so much to take in, so make sure you allow enough time to soak up all the energy. I don’t know how anyone can leave not wanting to just pick up a paint brush and just draw whatever’s on their mind.
It’s amazing to see how much someone can just let them self go and be free to express whatever and however. It made me feel so 1 dimensional and close minded.
If you’ve seen the exhibit already, let me know what you thought!!
Essential Style for Men asked me to give my styling advice for their male readers…check out what I had to say!
Last Sunday, I worked with The Eden Effect again on their upcoming music video: Surprise Me. I previously worked with them on The Blame Game music video.
We have one more day of shooting left. Can’t wait to check it out!! For all you Madonna fans, you are going to like this song!! Keep checking back!!
